Meet Ruqaya Malik

I am an employment solicitor with two years’ post qualification experience, advising individuals on a range of workplace issues. I enjoy employment law because it is ultimately about people. Employment issues can have a significant impact on an individual’s career and personal life, and I enjoy helping clients navigate what can often be a difficult or uncertain time. I also enjoy the variety that employment law offers – no two cases are ever the same.

My experience

I regularly advise employees on settlement agreements and negotiated exits, helping clients understand their options and negotiate the best possible terms when leaving employment. I also advise on employment contracts, post termination restrictions and Employment Tribunal claims.

My approach

I take a proactive and practical approach to my work and aim to provide clear, practical advice from the outset. I understand that employment issues can often be time-sensitive and stressful, so I make sure my clients understand their options and are kept informed throughout.
My keen interest and background in mediation inform my approach to negotiations and disputes, allowing me to focus on practical solutions while remaining firmly focused on achieving my clients’ objectives, whether that means negotiating firmly to achieve an improved settlement or guiding a client through a more contentious employment dispute.
